The art hall of the new government complex has become the mecca of performing arts in Hongseong and Yesan areas. Beginning operation upon the opening of the government complex, it has hosted a series of high quality performances since April, offering pleasing entertainment experience to local residents.

In commemoration of the relocation of the government complex and the launch of the Naepo New City, performances are held twice every month (Wednesdays of the 2nd and 4th week) until the end of this year. In the second week, three provincial art companies (Chungnam Traditional Music Orchestra, Chungnam Philharmonic Orchestra and Chungman Institute for Traditional Performing Art) and Chungnam Yeonjeong Institute of Traditional Music, a traditional music school, perform Korean traditional music. In the fourth week, performances by major national or local art companies are staged.

Since the first performance by Chungnam Institute for Traditional Performing Art on April 10, Yeonjeong Institute (May) and Chungnam Traditional Music Orchestra (June) have performed so far. On July 10, Yeonjeong Institute is scheduled to perform Sanjo Ensemble and Namdo Folk Songs, followed by performances of the performing art institute (August 7), the orchestra (September 11) and again by the performing art institute (October 9).

In particular, expectations are high on the musical and movie BGM performance by the orchestra scheduled for November 13. Finally, the performing art institute will perform vocal music and orchestra on December 11.

As for Wednesday of the fourth week, creative musicals and performances by orchestras have been staged so far.

The performances are free of charge, in principle, with exceptions where necessary.

The art hall is housed in a five-story building (including 2 basement floors) with a total area of 9,672 square meters and 836 seats.
